Jaguar XKR Coupe

The XK series (XK8 and XKR) is a grand tourer produced by the British automaker Jaguar since 1997. It replaces the XJS and comes as a coupé and convertible. The second-generation XK8 was the first 8 cylinder vehicle that Jaguar produced, powered by the Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. Both variants are limited to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) and the range in price varies from US$69,830 - US$86,330.

Power and performance

The XK8 and XKR come standard with 18-inch alloy wheels and offer 19 and 20-inch wheels as an optional feature. Other features available on both cars include a navigation system, self-leveling xenon headlamps, Jaguar's Adaptive Cruise Control, all-leather interior, burl walnut trim, and side airbags.

In 2001, Jaguar released the XKR Silverstone limited edition with a Platinum paint finish, high-performance package (same engine than standard XKR, but improved transmission, suspension and brakes and 20" Silver BBS Detroit wheels), and custom interior. The second limited edition, the XKR 100, was released in 2002 and featured an Anthracite paint finish, 20-inch modular wheels, Brembo brakes, and custom interior. In 2004, the XKR Portfolio came out with 200 models in North America, 100 in Jupiter red and 100 in Coronado blue. It has 20-inch alloy wheels and custom color interior.

For 2005, the grille design of the XKR was refreshed.

XKR-R

Jaguar released a concept car called the XKR-R that was very similar to the production XKR but with a more powerful engine and improved handling. Though this naming convention is similar to that of the S-Type R special edition, the car has not been approved for manufacturing and is unlikely to ever be produced.
