The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been fully upgraded for 2008, making it the most opulent Jeep ever. The interior has been adorned with soft-touch dashboard materials, new colour palettes, and textured surfaces, while the new steering wheel, improved armrests, and tilt and telescope column add to the comfort. Limited and Overland models come with a leather-wrapped parking brake handle, and the Overland has a new leather package for seats, doors, dashboard, and heated second row seats.
The MyGIG infotainment system is optional, providing MP3 compatibility, a touch screen navigation system, and a 20GB hard drive with space for up to 1600 songs. The UConnect Hands-free Communication System is also available, enabling voice-activated wireless communication using Bluetooth technology.
Externally, the Jeep Grand Cherokee features a new front fascia and grille, a body-colour front sill and air dam, fresh alloy wheels, and new headlights.
Simon Elliott, Managing Director of Chrysler UK Ltd, noted that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee offers "luxury SUV" features without a hefty price tag. He went on to point out that each model comes with "the efficiency of a Mercedes-Benz diesel engine" and outstanding value for money.
