The Jeep Gladiator was a full-size pickup truck produced from 1962 to 1988, based on the SJ Jeep Wagoneer SUV. Variations of the truck included the J200, J300, J4000 for short and long wheelbase models respectively. Available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) varieties, the Gladiator featured options such as dual rear wheels, cab and chassis, wrecker, stake bed, and chassis mounted campers with extended wheelbases. As for the design of the bed, available options included Townside, Thriftside (stepside), and stakebed.
In its later years, after 1971, the truck was simply known as the Jeep pickup, with models J2000 and J4000 until 1973 then J10 and J20 from 1974 to 1988. Two of the most prominent adaptations of the Jeep pickup for military use include the M-715 and M-725.
