Jeep Renegade Concept
The Jeep Renegade concept is a sporty B-segment two-seater and is designed for the all-weather fun of dune-surfing or rock-crawling. According to Tony Shamenkov, Jeep Renegade concept principal exterior designer, it's "an experience to hang on and have fun". Constructed with eco-friendly materials, the Jeep Renegade concept is targeted at those who are "Stylish Green" and want performance and style as well as sustainability.
Jeep Renegade Concept Technology
The Jeep Renegade concept is powered by a 40-mile lithium-ion battery pack, and features a small-displacement BLUETEC diesel engine for journeys beyond 40 miles. Renegade is capable of achieving an equivalent fuel economy of 110 miles per gallon. Using an additional 115 horsepower, the dual electric 200 kilowatt (268 horsepower) motors power a 4x4 system with a low range and locking differentials for a total range of 400 miles. The lightweight aluminium architecture and regenerative braking system also further improve fuel efficiency.
