Jeep Wrangler 1997 posters

Jeep Wrangler

The updated Wrangler featured a coil-spring suspension (based on that of the Jeep Grand Cherokee) to improve ride and handling quality, as well as restoring the CJ's iconic round headlamps. Driving the vehicle is a 4.0 L AMC Straight-6 engine, the same one featured in the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, and an entry-level model with a 2.5 L AMC 150 inline-4 motor, but replaced in 2003 by a 2.4 L DOHC Neon 4-cylinder engine. Also available is a right-hand-drive version of the TJ for export markets, which was offered for sale to US rural route postal carriers with an automatic transmission. Further changes included 1999's larger standard fuel tank, child-safety tethers and audio system improvements, a new console, steering wheel and revised dashboard in 2000, and new colors and wheel styles in 2002.
