Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV
The Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited EV offers a peak into the future of a "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" Jeep with its legendary Wrangler capability. The prototype Wrangler Unlimited EV features two-wheel drive, with Chrysler's ENVI organization also researching four-wheel-drive in-wheel electric motors for added off-road capabilities. The electric-drive motor provides high torque and the power to controllably manage each wheel for road and off-road experiences. The Range-extended Electric Vehicle powertrain consists of an electric motor, an advanced lithium-ion battery system and a small gasoline engine with an electric generator for additional energy. The electric motor has 200 kW (268 horsepower) and 400 N•m (295 lb.-ft.) of torque, allowing for a range of 400 miles, with 40 miles of all-electric operation and zero fuel-consumption and zero-emissions.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited EV is designed with a new ENVI Green Pearl exterior color, complete with body-side "EV" graphics.
