Kia Borrego 2009 posters

Kia Borrego

Kia Motors unveiled the brand-new, Borrego SUV at the 2008 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit as an addition to Kia's range of cars and SUVs. Aimed at those who have active and dynamic lifestyles, Borrego's striking styling reinforces the philosophy of "less is more" and is equipped with Kia's first-ever V8 engine, making it the most powerful Kia vehicle thus far. According to Len Hunt, president and CEO of Kia Motors America: "Kia is pleased to introduce a hi-spec SUV for drivers who delight in what they drive. We are determined to provide quality vehicles at sensible costs and Borrego comes with distinctive styling while still covering the needs of families and those who want to add some fun to their motoring experience." Aggressive Yet Appealing Packaging Taking its design cues from the Mesa concept vehicle presented in 2005 at Detroit, Borrego displays body-on-frame construction and considerable exterior power. The flared back headlamps, an upright grille and sharply shaped hood have an authoritative appeal while optional 18-inch alloy wheels enhance off-road performance. The Borrego has 114.0 inches of wheelbase, an overall length of 192.1 inches, and overall width of 75.4 inches, providing its interior with abundant room with three rows that can accommodate up to 7 people. This size places Borrego in the mid-size segment in the US, but it is considered a full-size SUV compared to the Sorento, Kia's largest SUV in the UK.
