Kia has made major advancements to the European-designed, European-engineered, and European-made cee'd family. The new cee'd family was available at UK dealerships from October 1st, 2015, with prices starting at £14,905 for the five-door cee'd, £15,250 for the three-door pro_cee'd, £16,750 for the cee'd Sportswagon, £23,105 for the pro_cee'd GT and £23,605 for the cee'd GT.
New EcoTurbo petrol and CRDi diesel engines
One of the biggest upgrades for the range is the introduction of the new 1.0-litre ecoTurbo petrol and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engines, as well as the seven-speed double-clutch (7-DCT) automatic gearbox. Both of the 998cc powertrains are developed in-house at Kia's Namyang research and development facility in Korea and are said to require 10 to 15 per cent less fuel than the 1.4-litre multi-point injection or 1.6-litre GDi engines used in other cee'd family models, with similar reductions in emissions. Depending on the model, fuel economy varies from up to 57.6mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 113g/km.
