Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid [EU]
Kia's all-new Optima Plug-in Hybrid, its first ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, was unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. This revolutionary new plug-in hybrid is set to be released in Europe in Q4 2016, extending Kia's D-segment Optima line-up and aiding the company in meeting its low-emission vehicle target.
The Optima Plug-in Hybrid has bigger battery capacity and electric-only range than previous Hybrid models, allowing drivers to travel up to 33 miles of zero-emissions. When the 2.0-litre GDI (gasoline direct injection) engine kicks in, the combined CO2 emissions are expected to be just 37 g/km, with low total running costs.
According to Michael Cole, Chief Operating Officer of Kia Motors Europe, the growing market for low-emission cars and Kia's mission to increase average fleet fuel efficiency by 25% by 2020 has motivated the Optima Plug-in Hybrid. This new Plug-in Hybrid technology makes the Optima an appealing choice for both private and fleet customers, with its attractive design, enjoyable driving experience, economic costs, and minimal environmental impact.
