Kia Rio 5-door
The Kia Motors America (KMA) showcased the 2016 Rio Sedan alongside the Rio 5-Door revealed in Paris 2014 at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, with its well-known skyline and indie rock music as the background. These two modern and stylish subcompacts mark the entry points into KMA's award-winning auto and CUV series. Much improved both inside and out for 2016, the vehicles boast a European design, offer considerable internal room, and guarantee remarkable fuel efficiency. Both Sedan and 5-Door are expected to enter the market during the first quarter of 2015.
"The Rio symbolizes all the evolution that Kia has experienced since it came to the U.S over 20 years ago," commented Orth Hedrick, Vice President of Product Planning. "And exactly the same as the brand, the Rio has grown for the 2016 model. Its modern design has been polished up and both models have a long list of standard features, which make the Sedan and 5-Door stand out in the subcompact vehicles market."
The Rio has been modified boosting its front and back fascias. The purpose of these modifications is to provide greater width to the car and make it look more imposing; also, the geometric pattern found in other Kia vehicles such as the Optima and Soul has been integrated into the grid. In addition, the fog light surrounds come with satin-finish bezels featuring projector lenses and the lights have been set in a more dynamic position. The lower front part integrates solid horizontal planes similar to the ones present at the rear. The back reflectors have been renovated and positioned at the corners of the car, and the Rio range of colors was boosted with the inclusion of Urban Blue and Digital Yellow.
