Kia Rio Sedan
Making its global debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, Kia Motors America (KMA) unveiled the 2016 Rio Sedan alongside the previously introduced Rio 5-Door (Paris, 2014). Offering sporty European design cues and generous interior accommodations, both models are the entry points into KMA's ever-expanding award-winning lineup of cars and CUVs. Boasting refreshed exteriors and improved fuel efficiency, the Rio Sedan and 5-Door are scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of 2015.
"The Rio embodies the evolution of the Kia brand in the US over the past 20 years," said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning. "Refreshed with modern styling, the 2016 Sedan and 5-Door are standouts in the subcompact segment thanks to their generous list of standard features."
Updates to the Rio include a new front and rear fascia for added visual width and presence, a redesigned grille insert incorporating the geometric pattern found in other Kia vehicles such as Optima and Soul, fog light surrounds with horizontal satin-finish bezels, and repositioned rear reflectors. In addition, two new colors have been added to the Rio's color palette -- Urban Blue and Digital Yellow.
