Kia Sports Coupe Concept
Kia Motors Corporation has announced its all-new sports coupe concept car will make its debut at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show on 11 September. Developed by Kia's European design team, whose leader is Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer, the car is a 2+2 coupe with a powerful look. The first image of the car was released and Schreyer commented: "Kia has given me the opportunity to shape its whole brand design and character. Seldom does a designer have such a clean sheet to work with. At Frankfurt, Kia will surprise the automotive world with our new sports coupe concept."
Schreyer was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal College of Art in recognition of his contribution to automotive design. He studied transportation design at the RCA in 1979/80 and has decades of experience at Audi and Volkswagen, having created designs for cars like the Audi TT and the new VW Beetle. Schreyer joined Kia Motors in September 2006.
