Kia is unveiling its first ever electric plug-in, the Kia Venga EV Concept car, based on the recently released Venga B-segment MPV, at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. Equipped with an 80 kW motor and torque of up to 280 Nm, the Kia Venga EV Concept can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 11.8 seconds and achieve a max speed of 87 mph. The LiPoly (Lithium Ion Polymer) battery has a 24 kWh capacity and allows up to 112 miles of range with a single charge. It can be quickly recharged to 80% capacity in 20 minutes or up to 100% in 8 hours. The electric powertrain is situated in the engine bay and the battery pack sits beneath the boot floor. As an emission-free vehicle solely powered by electric energy, the Kia Venga EV Concept will help in protecting the environment.
