Koenigsegg Quant Concept

Two renowned brands in the automotive industry, Sweden's premier supercar marque Koenigsegg and NLV Solar AG, a revolutionary expert in the field of photovoltaics and accumulators, have embarked on a joint venture to build the Koenigsegg Quant Concept. This four-seater solar-powered electric car aims to combine the power of NLV Solar's technology with the sleek design of Koenigsegg's signature vehicles. A full-scale version of the concept car is set to be showcased at the 2009 Geneva Salon, and the two companies are already developing prototypes that can be scaled up for mass production. Two companies, one vision This endeavour began in 2008 when NLV Solar approached Koenigsegg to combine their award-winning design with NLV Solar's cutting-edge photovoltaic and accumulator technology to create a "car of the future". With the cooperation agreement sealed, they went ahead with the construction of the test vehicle for a unique propulsion system. The vehicle will be integrated with NLV Solar's pioneering thin-film solar-cell coating, creating a state-of-the-art supercar. Groundbreaking technology The Koenigsegg Quant Concept is able to charge the Flow Accumulator Energy Storage (FAES) to full capacity in a mere 20 minutes, and boasts a range of 500 kilometres per charge. Furthermore, the invisible thin-film photovoltaic covers that adorn the car's body add extra juice to the engine, granting an even larger range potential.
