KTM X-Bow Race

Motorsport is a big deal for KTM, this is clear from their slogan 'Ready to Race'. So while KTM was working on plans for series production, having the X-Bow compete on the racetrack made perfect sense. The company then teamed up with Dallara to develop its own racing version, which was run in the GT4 European Cup by Reiter Engineering, a German racing team. KTM wanted to use this entry for the GT4 as a way of powering developments for customer motorsport applications and the production model. KTM had the expert input of world-renowned Italian racing driver Loris Bicocchi when creating the KTM X-Bow Race car. Biccochi has played a large part in the X-Bow programme from the start, helping with its chassis and dynamics tuning. His past motorsport experience also includes being a test driver and racing cars such as the Koenigsegg CCR and the Bugatti Veyron. It quickly became evident that the X-Bow would be making its racing debut at a racetrack. Motorsport felt like the logical step for the vehicle given its racing DNA, and it was Reiter Engineering's GT team, paired with the SRO and Stephane Ratel's GT4 European Cup, that gave the X-Bow a suitable platform. The X-Bow competed against teams from Lotus and Donkervoort as well as more powerful teams like the Aston Martin N24, BMW Z4 M, Ford Mustang and Nissan 350Z.
