Lamborghini Concept S

The Lamborghini "Concept S" design study, showcased at the Geneva Motorshow, has been brought to life as a driveable prototype. It was presented at the Monterey Concorso Italiano and at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in the USA to gauge potential customer demand. Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, affirms that this extreme and spectacular expression of the Lamborghini brand is true to Lamborghini's identity. It was designed at the Centro Stile Lamborghini in Sant'Agata Bolognese by Luc Donckerwolke, who drew inspiration from classic single-seater racing cars of the past. The "Concept S" prototype has only had slight changes from the original design, such as the re-design of the so-called "saute-vent" windscreens for homologation reasons. This bestows an even more extreme appearance to the car. The "saute-vent" functions to divert air over the driver, and also creates a space to act as an additional air inlet for the engine, located behind the seats. To optimize the aerodynamics of the car, front and rear spoilers and a large rear diffuser have been added, as well as an electronically controlled, retractable central rear view mirror. The car is also equipped with the same powerful V10 engine as the Lamborghini Gallardo.
