Lamborghini Countach LP 400

The Lamborghini Countach LP 400, the standard production Countach released in March 1973 after two years of development, marked a considerable turning point in sports car design. It had a new tubular steel frame, a 4-liter engine that developed 375 hp, a self-ventilating disk brakes, adjustable double shock absorbers, and coil springs with hydraulic shock absorbers and stabilizer bars. Its fiberglass flat base and sheet metal panels offered both rigidity and mass benefits, while its shape underwent aesthetic and technical modifications such as two Naca side air intakes and two ducts added above the radiator's air intakes. Considered to be the purest version of Marcello Gandini’s design, the LP 400 has had 152 units produced up until 1977 and is today the most sought-after version among collectors.
