At a private ceremony held at the Viminale Palace, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. presented the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia to the head of the Italian State Police, Prefect Antonio Manganelli. This police version of Lamborghini's newest super sports car represents an upgrade as it replaces the first-generation Lamborghini Gallardo Police Car that has been in use since 2004.
The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia is equipped with a 560 horsepower engine that provides an impressive top speed of 203 mph. It will start its service with the Lazio Highway Police Department to support national security efforts by continuing accident and crime prevention.
Proof of outstanding reliability

Since its introduction in 2004, the Italian police force has continually used a Lamborghini Gallardo for patrols along the central and southern Italian motorways, as well as on emergency medical transport operations. Another Gallardo custom-painted in blue and white police colors has been operating around Bologna, Italy since 2005 and has already recorded more than 62,000 miles without the need for major repairs.
