Lamborghini Murcielago Barchetta Concept

The Lamborghini Murciélago is an ultimate expression of Lamborghini's iconic automotive superlatives. It is a GT car and a supercar rolled into one, crafted by Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. and designed by the dynamic Luc Donckerwolke. The model was first launched in 2002 as a successor to the Diablo. It is a two door, two seater coupe, with a toned-down yet sporty look. Engineered for maximum performance, a convertible version of the Murciélago was made available in 2004, known as the Murciélago Roadster. This version features an ultra-aggressive rear flank and a significantly higher price tag. The Murciélago has a 6.2 L V-12 engine, All Wheel Drive power delivery and a choice between a six speed manual or the 6-speed e-gear sequential gearbox. It comes fitted with special aerodynamic features such as side scoops, capable of automatically adjusting their size to draw in the optimal amount of air, and a rear spoiler that can be raised to angular positions of up to 70-degrees. The name Murciélago has been inspired by a bull that valiantly fought in an 1879 fight in Cordoba. The bull was subsequently presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and birthed a famed line of fighting bulls. Noticing the significance of the title, Lamborghini has featured a Murciélago Roadster in the 2005 movie "Batman Begins". The Lamborghini Murciélago has a base price of US$273,000, making it US$90,000 more expensive than its younger sibling, the Lamborghini Gallardo.
