Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 SE

The iconic Lamborghini Diablo was first released in January 1990 and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020. Its development began in 1985, with the goal of replacing the Countach at the top of Lamborghini's lineup. Marcello Gandini created the car's now-legendary exterior design, which was later revised by Chrysler's design center after they became the majority shareholder of Automobili Lamborghini. At launch, the Lamborghini Diablo fly by with a speed of 325 km/h (203.1 mph), making it the fastest production car in the world. Sandro Munari was involved in the intense development of its impressive handling. The Diablo was powered by a 5.7-liter 12-cylinder engine, four overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, equipped with multi-point electronic injection that allowed it to develop 485 HP and 580 Nm of torque. Although the interior was luxuriously finished with leather seating and air conditioning, the Diablo was a performance-focused car with no electronic driving aids or power steering until 1993. In 1993, Lamborghini unveiled the setting four-wheel drive Diablo VT, which featured mechanical improvements and stylistic changes that would soon be seen in the two-wheel drive version. The same year, the commemorative SE30 series was released with 523 HP horsepower. The Diablo SV was unveiled at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show, available exclusively as two-wheel drive with 510 HP. Later that year, the Diablo VT Roadster became Lamborghini's first 12-cylinder, open-top vehicle. In 1999, the Diablo SV "restyling" was released by Lamborghini, with revised lines and interior following the VT and VT Roadster. This version of the Diablo was equipped with 529 HP and 605 Nm of torque, thanks to the variable valve lift system and ABS. The car remained on the market until 2001, when it was succeeded by the Murciélago. In total, Lamborghini produced 2903 Diablos, with the 6.0 SE producing 44 units in its final year in 2001.
