Lancia Dedra
The Lancia Dedra was a midsized automobile manufactured between 1990 and 1998. It was based on the Fiat Tipo-floorpan and served as the sedan version of the second-generation Lancia Delta. Launched as the successor of the Prisma, it did not achieve high-level success on the export markets. A major facelift in 1993 failed to boost the car's sales and the entire Lancia range, including the Dedra, was pulled from right-hand drive markets a year later. However, the car proved to be popular in the Italian market until replaced by the all-new Lybra.
The dedicated Dedra was created alongside the Fiat Tempra, utilizing the same Tipo floorpan, with the Lancia models targeting the upmarket D segment, while the respective Fiat cars were in the compact C segment. Featuring an efficient design by the I.DE.A Institute, the Dedra boasted a drag coefficient of 0.29. As Lancia's prestige vehicle, it had an impressive level of equipment and utilization of materials, such as Alcantara, as well as special paints, alloy wheels, and soundproofing features. Other key features included adjustable seats, steering wheel, and electrically adjustable mirrors. On the safety front, it had passive and active safety measures, like a body built to minimize injury in an accident, and ABS.
