Lexus ES330 Sport Design

The Lexus ES series is a family of mid-size sedans produced by the Lexus division of Toyota from 1989 to the present and manufactured in Tsutsumi, Japan. It is based on the Toyota Camry platform, powered by a V6 engine and has always featured an automatic transmission. Until the Lexus IS was introduced in 2001, the ES was Lexus's entry-level car, rivaling the Infiniti G20, I30 and Acura TL. The first iteration of the ES 250 ran from August 30, 1989 until July 5, 1991 and had the same body shape as the contemporary Camry. The fifth-generation ES 350 was presented as a 2007 model in 2006 following a comprehensive update. Fourth generation (2002-2006) A larger fourth-gen ES (MCV30) emerged in 2002, taking advantage of the presence of the Lexus IS to ensure a more upscale image for the ES. Updates to its predecessor included improved sound insulation, bigger and softer seats, enhanced interior materials, a drive-by-wire electronic throttle, a five-speed automatic transmission, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist and stability and traction control. In the US and European markets, it was offered with a 3.3-L producing 225 hp engine and named the ES 330, while Asian and Middle Eastern markets continued to receive the 3.0-L. A mid-cycle refresh for the ES in 2005 featured a redefined grille, projector headlights, new front and rear fascias, as well as clear taillights. The interior got a bird's-eye maple trim, power adjustable pedals, and heated and ventilated front seats. Also, satellite radio became an optional accessory.
