The GS 350's 3.5-liter V6 engine is optimized for low internal friction, which lets it produce 303 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 274 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,600 rpm. Direct fuel-injection allows for increased power and greater fuel efficiency. Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) provides improved performance across a wide range of rpm. Its six-speed transmission enables manual shifting when desired.
The Lexus GS 460's V8 pumps out 342 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and 339 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,100 rpm - yet, it still meets the EPA's Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) requirements. Its eight-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting boosts acceleration, taking it from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds (5.8 for AWD).
