Lexus GS430
The Lexus GS430 is a mid-sized luxury sports sedan/executive car introduced by the Toyota Motor Corporation under the Lexus brand. It is based on the Toyota Crown platform and running gear and was designed to compete with the BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It was first launched in Japan in 1991 and two years later in the United States and other selected markets in Asia. The GS430 has a wider wheelbase than the ES model, but shorter length and is motorized by a 4.3-litre UZ V8 engine which produces 300 horsepower and 325 ft·lbf of torque. Edmunds.com reported a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds for the 3693-pound sedan. It was Motor Trend's Import Car of the Year for 1998 and made Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 1998 through 2000.
