Lexus GS430
The Lexus GS is a mid-size luxury sports sedan / executive car manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation and sold under the Lexus brand internationally. This model was designed to bridge the gap between the Lexus ES and LS, and to provide the brand with a luxury sports sedan that could match the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The GS has a broader wheelbase than the ES, but is shorter in terms of length.
The GS and Aristo, although fundamentally the same, have distinct engine and transmission combinations as well as different equipment packages. In 2006, the third generation GS was released which was codenamed the GRS190. It came in two trims, the GS 300 (powered by the 3.0 L V6 3GR-FSE engine) and the GS 430 (featuring the same 4.3 L V8 from the previous model). For the majority of markets, the GS 300 made use of a direct-injection engine, while the 3.0L engine was found in the Toyota Mark X and Zero Toyota Crown. For those who wanted four-wheel-drive, it was available exclusively for the GS 300.
For the 2007 model year, the GS 350 replaced the GS 300, offering a 3.5 L 2GR-FSE engine. Additionally, a GS 460 using a 4.6 L engine is expected to be released in 2008. The Aristo was not launched again, as Toyota wanted to introduce Lexus as their premium brand worldwide. Production of the third-generation Lexus GS began on January 24, 2005.
