Lexus unveiled the new 2008 LS 600h L hybrid luxury sedan at the 2006 New York International Automobile Show. When it arrives in Spring 2007, it will become the world's first vehicle to feature a full hybrid V8 powertrain.

Lexus Hybrid Drive
Coupled with the LS 600h L is the introduction of Lexus Hybrid Drive, which will denote all Lexus hybrid models worldwide. Its five-liter V8 gasoline engine is augmented by two powerful electric motors and a large-capacity battery. This powerhouse provides an impressive 430+ combined horsepower, managed by a full-time all-wheel-drive system and an electronically controlled, continuously variable transmission. This combination creates smooth acceleration and ultimate control.
