The LS 600h L's V8 engine is equipped with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and an Electrically controlled Intake Cam (VVT-iE). The combination of VVT-i and electric-motor driven intake, as well as an oil-controlled VVT-I exhaust system, optimizes engine-startup operation and maintains high-output performance. A specially designed Hydrocarbon Adsorber and Catalyst (HCAC) system is linked to the two-way exhaust to reduce emissions during cold start-up.
