Lotus Elise Club Racer
The Lotus Elise Club Racer is a world class, high performance and low emission sportscar that made its debut at the 2009 IAA in Frankfurt. The Special Edition of the award-winning Lotus Elise has introduced new and exclusive colour schemes, bespoke interior and lightweight components to produce a modern design with a classic twist.
The exterior of the Lotus Elise Club Racer is completed in four classic colours from the Elite and Elan of the 1960s (Elite Yellow, Carbon Grey, Sky Blue and Old English White). It has anthracite anodised gear, handbrake sleeve, transmission tunnel and six-spoke lightweight alloy wheels shod with bespoke Yokohama AD07 LTS tyres. The interior of the Lotus Elise Club Racer has a unique anodised aluminium flooring, Lotus Elise supportive seats with lightweight microfibre comfort pads, and a 320 mm diameter leather-rimmed steering wheel complete with an on-center marker. The body colour theme continues to the seat shells which are partly exposed and are accompanied by a hand-embroidered Club Racer (CR) logo on the seat headrest.
Luke Bennett, Director of Lotus Cars said, "We have taken colour schemes from our past, used on the Elite and Elan in the 1960s and cleverly brought them up to date with a modern feel to the interior. The whole design package is modern with a classic twist, which of course matches the peerless ride and handling of a Lotus and the convertible experience of the Elise perfectly."
The Lotus Elise Club Racer is based upon the 134 hp Lotus Elise S and goes on sale on 15th September 2009.
