Lotus Europa S
The all-new Lotus Europa S puts the excitement and performance of a powerful two-seater GT into the hands of Lotus customers with an impressive level of convenience and refinement. The same iconic Lotus philosophy of lightweight dynamics is applied to the Europa S, resulting in a mere 995 kg of curb weight – achieved through the use of advances materials including an extruded and bonded aluminium chassis, composite body panels, and a high-performance composite crash structure up front.
Compared to the award-winning Elise and Exige models, the Europa S provides a slower, more luxurious ride with a larger boot / luggage compartment, a higher roof line, and cabin access. The car is decked out with leather interior, airbags for both driver and passenger, and carpets as standard for an ultimate “business class” driving experience.
The Lotus Europa S is Type 121, distinct from the Elise and Exige (Type 111). The powerful mid-engined GT is outfitted with a 2.0-litre turbo engine producing a remarkable 149 kW (200 hp or 203 PS) at 5400rpm. Peak torque of 263 Nm (194 lbft) occurs at just 4200 rpm, guaranteeing “supercar” acceleration from low engine speeds. Zero to 96 km/h (60 mph) can be achieved in around 5.5 seconds, and an impressive top speed of circa 225 km/h (140 mph). With a power to weight ratio of 201 hp / tonne (204 PS / tonne or 6.68 kg / kW), the Europa S is sure to impress.
