Lotus Cars Ltd has revealed its latest offering, the 2009 Lotus Exige Cup 260. Built off the 2008 Exige Cup Car, this new model has been outfitted with lighter components and a carbon fibre body, resulting in a total weight that is 38 kg less than the original, now coming in under 900 kg. Maximum power output of 257 hp (260 PS) remains equal to that of the 2008 car, making the Exige Cup 260 incredibly agile and dynamic to drive, able to handle the most challenging tracks with ease.
What makes this race and road machine truly unique is that it is homologated for use on the roads in Europe as well as certain areas in Asia, perfect for those race competitions that require road legal vehicles. And with Lotus aiming to reduce weight in order to enhance performance and lower emissions, the Exige Cup 260 is a perfect representation of this philosophy.
