Maserati MC12

The Maserati MC12 is a new road-going Grand Tourer developed by the Italian company. 37 years after its last victory on the international stage (1967, Cooper Maserati F1, South African Grand Prix), the Trident is making a triumphant return to the tracks. The design of the car was molded through wind tunnel tests from an idea by Giugiaro and Maserati technicians, with the technical guidance of Frank Stephenson, the Ferrari Maserati Group's Director of Concept Design and Development. The MC12 has been approved for European type roads and can reach speeds of up to 330 km/h, with an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. It is not only fast but provides a fluid and dynamic driving experience - giving the driver the feel of a thoroughbred sport car - while remaining easy and pleasant to drive. Maserati has been venturing back into the racing scene lately, marked, among others, by their met with success at the Daytona 24 Hour Race with a single-series car called the Trofeo Light. Giorgio Ascanelli, Maserati's Racing Division engineer, is now developing the MC12 further to meet the rules of the major international championships.
