Mazda 6 MPS Concept

The Mazda Atenza (known as Mazda 6 in other markets) is a mid-size car that has been produced by the Japanese carmaker Mazda since 2002. It has gone on to sell over a million units worldwide and replaced Mazda's Capella/626 model. It is offered in a 4-door sedan, 5-door hatchback, and a 5-door station wagon, and is powered by either the Mazda Z engine or a 3.0L Duratec V6 depending on the market. The range of transmissions available includes a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and 4-speed Sport AT sequential-automatic. In some markets, an all-wheel drive option is available. Not all configurations are available in all areas; in Australia, for example, only the four-cylinder model is offered. In addition to Mazda, this chassis is used as the base platform for other Ford vehicles such as the Fusion, Milan, MKZ, and MKX. Ford has also announced plans to offer a hybrid variant using this platform. Mazda refers to this chassis as the GG (sedan/hatch) or GY (wagon) series - following the 626 in its GF/GW series.
