Named after the Japanese phrase for 'swirling crosswinds', the Mazda Kazamai Concept was designed to live up to its namesake with its powerful and nimble character. Its styling is reflective of the Mazda Nagare flow design, featuring three-dimensional motifs that stretch along the body to create a unique fusion of design and functionality. This dynamic, athletic-looking crossover measures in just slightly larger than the Mazda3 at 1,930mm in width and 4,520mm in length, and stands 1,500mm tall with a flat roofline and short rear overhangs, giving it a sporty coupe shape and look.
Its impressive features extend from its flared fenders that convey salience to its SUV-like strength, to its wedge shape profile that is meant to suggest an arrow cutting through strong wind. Intentionally featuring panel lines along the sides to evoke the swiftness of a fierce crosswind, this modern take on the concept car life is further enhanced with a bonnet lower in the centre, the 22-inch diameter wheels with 265/45 R22 tyres, and the befitting sports car cabin.
