Mazda MX5
The Mazda MX-5, also referred to as MX-5 Miata or simply Miata in North America, or Roadster in Japan, is a popular sports car manufactured by Mazda in Hiroshima, Japan since 1989. This vehicle is considered one of the most popular sports cars ever sold around the globe, with a total of 748,904 cars sold by the end of 2005. With the introduction of the third-generation model in 2006, Mazda began to use the same MX-5 product name across markets, apart from Japan, where it remained as Roadster. The MX-5 has a classic FR (front-engine, rear-wheel-drive) layout, consisting of a longitudinally mounted four-cylinder engine that is coupled to a manual transmission while an automatic transmission can be chosen as an option. The body of the MX-5 is designed with a unibody shell which makes it light, coupled with an independent double wishbone suspension and powerplant frame (PPF) that is connected between the engine and the differential to provide improved responsiveness without compromising flexibility. Notable features of the MX-5 include Limited Slip Differential, ABS, and traction control.
