Mazda RX-8 Dingo Art

The Mazda RX-8 is a distinguished sports car manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation, first revealed at the North American International Auto Show in 2001. This model is the successor to the RX-7, with a Wankel rotary engine providing the power for the car. Its design is one of a kind, offering front mid-mounted, rear wheel drive, two plus two coupé with a 50/50 weight distribution. To achieve this weight control, lightweight materials such as aluminium and plastic are used for the body panels, and carbon fibre composite is used for the driveshaft. To increase convenience and usability, the RX-8 features rear-hinged "freestyle" (or suicide) doors that can only be opened when the front doors are open. Powertrain The RX-8 contains a 1.3 L naturally-aspirated RENESIS rotary engine which grants it a potent power output of 246.58 hp (184 kW) at 8,500 rpm with a redline at 9,000 rpm and fuel cut-off at 9,500 rpm. This engine setup earned the International Engine of the Year and Best New Engine awards from 2003 to 2004 and is delivered to the rear wheels via a choice of 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic transmission through a limited slip differential.
