Mercedes-Benz 300 CE 6.3 AMG

The W124 was the Mercedes-Benz E-Class chassis-designation for its production between 1986 and 1995. It was a powerful and reliable mid-sized luxury car that replaced the W123 models after 1985 (the W124 additionally manufactured in India until 1997, available in two varients - E220 Petrol and E 250 Diesel). The W124 was eventually superseded by the W210 E-Class in 1995. History The W124 had an innovative suspension system shared with Citroen BX vehicles, featuring gas-pressurised spheres, levelling suspension struts and an underbonnet pressurising pump. It also deployed rear springs instead of struts. At the front, the suspension was based on a conventional system. Additionally, the W124 estate cars came in two models - one seating 5 passengers, and another with an extra rear-facing bench seat for an extra two. Both versions also had split rear seats that folded to create up to two metres of storage space. A retractable luggage compartment cover and retractable cargo net were also featured. The W124 estate was produced alongside the new W210 until the W210 estate was released.
