The C63 AMG Estate follows in the footsteps of the saloon car. Its 6.3-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine offers an impressive output of 336 kW/457 hp and 600 Nm of torque at 6800 rpm and 5000 rpm respectively, propelling it from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and allowing for a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). Power is distributed through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC gearbox, complete with the three driving modes – “C”, “S” and “M” – that give the seven-speed transmission a sporty or comfort-focused feel.
An AMG steering wheel and shift paddles, as well as an automatic throttle-blipping function during downshifting, come as standard. The new front axle works in partnership with an AMG sports-specific suspension and 3-stage ESP®, while the AMG high-performance braking system provides reliable stopping power regardless of driving style. The C63 AMG Estate is fitted with 18-inch five-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels and 235/40 R 18 (front) and 255/35 R 18 (rear) wide-base tyres, although 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels with 235/35 R 19 (front) and 255/30 R 19 (rear) tyres are also available as an option.
Design and appointments are of a luxury standard for the C63 AMG Estate, with an array of classic Mercedes-Benz AMG features such as the bonnet's power domes, a distinctive AMG radiator grille, AMG bodystyling, flared front wings, an AMG rear apron with a black diffusor insert and an AMG sports exhaust system with dual chromed pipes. Its interior benefits from AMG sports seats with integral head restraints, as well as a three-spoke AMG steering wheel and a tube-style AMG instrument cluster. Top it off with AMG aluminium or carbon trim for the ultimate look and feel.
The C63 AMG Estate features a load compartment that ranges from 485 to 1500 litres (VDA measuring method), the largest of any car in its class. In addition, the new EASY-PACK tailgate simplifies loading and unloading, while bag hooks, four anchoring lugs, side stowage compartments and a collapsible shopping crate are all included as standard. The C63 AMG Estate is expected to hit the market at the start of 2008 for €69,853 incl. 19% VAT.
