Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series DTM Safety Car

A new and impressive element of the 2012 DTM race schedule is the DTM Safety Car - the powerful Mercedes-AMG C-Coupé, otherwise known as the C63 AMG Coupé Black Series. Boasting an impressive maximum output of 380 kW (517 hp), this two-seater is the strongest C-Class ever. It will be driven by Jürgen Kastenholz (44), a professional racing driver, and will be the first vehicle on the Hockenheimring on 29 April 2012 when the German Touring Car Masters (DTM) race begins. At the direction of the German Motorsport Association (DMSB), the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupé Black Series Safety Car is kept on the track to guarantee the protection of the racers, viewers and track officials in perilous situations - for example, bad weather, accidents or other mishaps. When there is a radio alert from the race directors, the Safety Car will drive onto the track and lead the DTM competitors until the regular racing can be reinstated.
