Mercedes-Benz CL600

The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class (C215) is a 2nd generation coupé of 2000-2006, based on the 1999-2006 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W220) but with a shorter wheelbase of 8 inches (203 mm). It debuted in Germany in August 1999 with the CL 500 V8. Design-wise, much of the exterior and the active suspension of the C215 model was previewed in the Mercedes-Benz F200 concept from 1996. The CL line includes five models: the V8-powered CL 500, the supercharged V8-powered CL 55 AMG, the V12-powered CL 600, a limited-edition V12-powered CL 63 AMG, and the rare bi-turbo V12-powered CL 65 AMG. Despite the sporty sleek look, all models have room for four passengers. All these CL coupes come packed with cutting-edge technology, much of which was pioneered by the S-Class sedans. This includes the Distronic cruise control system, the Bi-Xenon lights and the Active Body Control active suspension system. Other standard features are climate control, all-leather interior, designer wood trim, trip computer, CD, navigation system, front heated seats, power moonroof, plus power door and trunk closing assist. For extra luxury, options include heated steering wheel and voice-activated telephone, plus fan-cooled and heated seats.
