Mercedes-Benz CLK Cabriolet

The Mercedes-Benz CLK Cabriolet was first debuted in the 1998 model year, and was seen as the less expensive alternative to the sporty SL-Class convertible. Remarkably successful, it was one of the most popular convertible Mercedes-Benz models ever released, selling over 41,520 units in the United States between 1999 to 2003. Worldwide, more than 115,000 were sold. The first generation was offered in the variations of CLK320, CLK430 and CLK55 AMG, all of which could be purchased as either a coupe or convertible. The CLK320 coupe was powered by a 3.2 L V6 engine with the CLK320 cabriolet and the CLK430 coupe, with a 4.3 L V8 engine, in tow. The CLK430 cabriolet joined the lineup in 2000 and the CLK55 AMG coupe appeared in 2001, with its 5.4 L V8 engine. The CLK55 AMG cabriolet was released in 2002 as the final spec of this generation.
