Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG

The Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is taking model year 2007 to the next level with three innovative engines, enhanced safety, and more standard features than ever before. The Coupe is equipped with the world's first petrol engine that uses piezoelectric direct injection and spray-guided combustion, delivering 215 kW/ 292 hp and an impressive fuel efficiency of 10% more than comparable V6 petrol engines with port injection. Furthermore, the CLS 500 is powered by a brand-new V8 engine from the S-Class with an output of 285 kW/388 hp -- an increase of 26% from the previous 8-cylinder engine. The pinnacle of this new range is the CLS 63 AMG, featuring a V8 naturally aspirated engine that cranks out 378 kW/ 514 hp. On top of that, Mercedes-Benz is giving the standard safety features a boost by introducing the PRE-SAFE® anticipatory occupant protection system and flashing brake lights on all new models. These vehicles will debut in June 2006. In 2004, Mercedes-Benz first presented the four-door CLS-Class as a novel combination of the performance of a coupe and the comfort of a sedan. In mid-2006, Mercedes-Benz is set to upgrade this series with even more luxury and modern technology, particularly for safety and engine performance. The CLS 350 CGI, which will launch in the third quarter of 2006, is the world's first direct petrol injection system with spray-guided combustion and offers a fuel economy of 9.1-9.3 litres per 100 kilometres, meaning it can drive for around 70 kilometres with a single tank (80 litres).
