Mercedes-Benz E320

The Mercedes-Benz W210, produced between 1996 and 2002, was the first Mercedes-Benz offering to focus on appealing to a younger market segment. As such, the W210 came in both sedan and station wagon body types, and was sold as the E-Class model. It quickly became one of the leading models of the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Engines In 1998, Mercedes-Benz introduced their first V6 engine for the W210, the M112, with 221 horsepower (hp) and 229 foot-pounds (ft·lbf) of torque, and was capable of a 0-60 mph time of 6.9 seconds. Other gasoline engines offered included the E420 (1997), E430 (1998-2002), and E55 AMG (1999-2002) with 354 hp and a 5.4L normally aspirated engine. For the North American market, the W210 also featured two E300 diesel engine models -- non-turbocharged (1996-1997) and turbocharged (1998-1999) 3.0 litre straight-6 units. In 2000, diesel powerplants were discontinued for the E-Class in North America, but in Europe CDI engines (2000-2002) replaced them, and were not offered in North America until the W211.
