Mercedes-Benz F 600 Hygenius Concept
The world-leading luxury car company, Mercedes-Benz, has revealed the brand-new F 600 Hygenius Concept. Driven by a powerful yet clean fuel cell power of 85 kW/115 hp, this compact car, complete with a family-oriented design, can gain an impressive 400 km range. For every 100 kilometres, only 2.9 litres of fuel is consumed. According to DaimlerChrysler AG Board Member responsible for Research & Technology, Dr. Thomas Weber, this research vehicle is a major breakthrough in bringing a production-level fuel cell technology to the market between 2012 and 2015.
In addition to the powerful fuel cell, this concept car also boasts new technology, such as virtual displays, improved seats, and other features that aim to increase the overall safety and comfort of drivers. Mercedes-Benz has worked hard to create a remarkable, cost-effective, environment-friendly engine. By combining hydrogen and oxygen, fuel cells generate power, all whilst resulting in zero emissions. This has been achieved through the inclusion of advancements related to fuel stacks, an electric turbocharger, and a powerful dehumidification system. Professor Herbert Kohler, who is in charge of the vehicle body and drive research department at DaimlerChrysler, regards the F 600 Hygenius as a true trailblazer in the automotive industry.
