MG XPower SV Concept

The MG XPower SV (Sport Veloce) is an Italian-made sports car, manufactured in Modena in a factory owned by Vaccari & Bosi and leased by MG Rover. It was produced on the basis of the Qvale Mangusta (formerly De Tomaso Bigua) platform. After acquiring Qvale Automotive Srl, MG Rover established MG X80 Ltd. for the production of the car, particularly targeting the US market as the Mangusta had already been homologated there.Initially designed as the MG X80 show car, designer Peter Stevens' more agressive version became the production model of the vehicle. The MG XPower SV was equipped with a 4.6-liter Ford V8 engine putting out 320 bhp. Despite its complex carbon fiber body, Club Sport options were planned, offering customers quicker and faster performance on the track. Options included a 5.0, 1,000 bhp engine due to its factory-approved nitrous oxide injection kits. Its basic version had 410 hp and could theoretically reach a maximum speed of 195 mph (314 km/h). By 2004, the MG SV-R had been released, featuring a 5.0 liter 32-valve V8 engine with 385 bhp, with a top speed approximately 175 mph.
