MG Zero Concept

The MG Zero Concept car has been revealed to the world's media as one of the highlights of the Beijing Automotive Show. Developed by the MG Global Design Team, led by British Design Director, Anthony (Tony) Williams-Kennedy, MG Zero Concept serves to showcase the brand's potential expansion into the high-volume sector of the market. It is about 4 metres long and utilizes the latest trends in vehicle size, styling and technology. Highlights of the design include a bold interior featuring clean lines, high contrast flashes of colour and touchscreens for user interaction. There is also the presence of highly innovative use of interior lighting features, such as bold red-coloured illumination to add a dramatic touch to the experience. From exterior design, Design Director Tony Williams said the concept car displays a "bold, individual soul", with its octagonal badge, striking lamps and large lower grille representing a confident sporty character. Additionally, there is an integration of communications technology on the exterior of the rear. MG Motor UK Sales and Marketing Director, Guy Jones, summarized the importance of MG Zero Concept: "MG Zero is crucial to the development of the brand globally, as it gives clear direction for the future beyond the current products. We are all proud to see our British-designed vehicle wearing the MG badge creating such an impact in Beijing. With the MG TF back in production in Birmingham, sales increasing and the MG 6 coming at the end of 2010, the MG Zero Concept has come at the perfect time to build further awareness and interest in the brand here in the UK."
