Mini Cooper 2004 posters

Mini Cooper S

MINI, a subsidiary of BMW, produces cars since 2001 and are marketed as a "retro" redesign of the original classic Mini, manufactured by British Motor Corporation from 1959 to 2000. It is often called 'The BMW MINI', 'The New MINI', or simply 'MINI', and is manufactured in Cowley, Oxford, United Kingdom, historically the Morris car plant. Models The MINI is available in seven models: the MINI One D, the MINI One, the MINI One Convertible, the MINI Cooper, the MINI Cooper S, the MINI Cooper Convertible, and the MINI Cooper S Convertible. The MINI One in Portugal is powered by a 1.4 l version of the Tritec engine, whereas all other gasoline powered MINIs use the 1.6 l version. Since 2004, a soft-top convertible option is available for all models. The models have several styling and badging differences, perhaps the most obvious are the Cooper S's distinctive scoop cut into the bonnet providing airflow over the top-mounted intercooler and its twin exhausts which exit under the center of the rear valance. The Cooper has more chrome parts, a single exhaust, and no visible exhaust pipes at all. Meanwhile, the MINI One/D has no visible exhaust pipes. In some markets, like Australia and the US, the MINI Cooper and Cooper S are the only models sold, as the MINI One's engine was considered insuficient to run an air conditioner. However, the engines vary only in a software change, tuned respectively for fuel economy and power/economy compromise. In Australia, nearly half of MINIs sold are Cooper S, and in the US, as much as 70% of MINIs sold are the same model.
