Mini Cooper S
MINI is a British car brand established in 2001. This brand is a subsidiary of BMW which manufactures "retro" redesigns of the classic Mini. This vehicle is simply known as MINI and is manufactured at the Morris car plant in Cowley, Oxford, United Kingdom.
Models
The MINI range is composed of seven models: the MINI One D, the MINI One, the MINI One Convertible, the MINI Cooper, the MINI Cooper S, the MINI Cooper Convertible and the MINI Cooper S Convertible. Each model is powered by a 1.4 or 1.6 litre version of the Tritec engine. In some markets, such as Australia and the US, only the MINI Cooper and Cooper S are sold due to the MINI One's engine being too weak for an air conditioner. Visual differences are seen between the models, with the most notable being the Cooper S having a bonnet scoop that channels air into a top-mounted intercooler and twin exhausts. The Cooper model features more chrome parts than the MINI One and has a single exhaust, whereas the MINI One/D has no visible exhaust pipes. Nearly fifty percent of the MINIs sold in Australia and seventy percent sold in the US are the top-of-the-range Cooper S model. A soft-top convertible option is available across the entire range since 2004.
