The MINI is available in seven variations: MINI One D, MINI One, MINI One Convertible, MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S, MINI Cooper Convertible, and MINI Cooper S Convertible. In Portugal, the MINI One comes with a 1.4-L version of the Tritec engine, while all other gasoline-powered MINIs have a 1.6-L version. There is also a soft-top convertible feature available since 2004 in all the models. The models vary quite a bit in terms of styling and badges. The sporty Cooper S has a scoop on the bonnet to provide airflow to the intercooler and twin exhausts at the rear. The Cooper has more chrome parts than the MINI One and a single exhaust. Conversely, the MINI One/D lacks visible exhaust pipes. In Australia and the US, only the MINI Cooper and Cooper S are sold because the MINI One's engine was deemed too underpowered to run an airconditioner - this feature being necessary in those climates. However, the only difference between the engines in the One and Cooper models is a software change affecting fuel economy. In both countries, Cooper S models account for an impressive share of the sales: almost fifty percent in Australia and approximately seventy percent in the US.Ready to make a splash?
