Mini One D

MINI is a car produced by BMW's subsidiary since 2001. It is often referred to as 'The BMW MINI', 'The New MINI', or simply 'MINI', and its design is based on the classic Mini manufactured by British Motor Corporation from 1959 to 2000. The MINI is built in the city of Cowley, Oxford, United Kingdom, in the former Morris car plant. Models The MINI comes in seven versions, with the most popular models being the MINI One D, the MINI One, the MINI One Convertible, the MINI Cooper, the MINI Cooper S, the MINI Cooper Convertible and the MINI Cooper S Convertible. In Portugal, the MINI One is driven by a 1.4 l Tritec engine and all other gasoline MINIs use the 1.6 l version. Since 2004, a soft-top convertible version has been accessible for all models. These different versions have noticeable variations in styling and logo. For instance, the MINI Cooper S has a distinctive scoop cut on its bonnet and twin exhausts at the center of its rear valance, while the non-S Cooper has a single exhaust and more chrome parts than the MINI One, which has no visible exhaust pipes at all. Additionally, in some markets, such as Australia and the US, the MINI One model is not available because its engine on its own is not powerful enough to run an air conditioner - a must-have in those climates. Nonetheless, the engine differences between the 'One' and the 'Cooper' models are only software modifications; the 'One' for better fuel efficiency and the 'Cooper' for a combination of power and fuel saving. In Australia, nearly half of the MINIs sold and 70% of those purchased in the US are the Cooper S model.
