Mitsubishi Motors introduces the all-new Mitsubishi ASX, a compact crossover which is smaller and sportier than its C-segment sibling. The ASX is a global car for the regions, as it was first launched in Japan under the name of "RVR" in February 2010. After being previewed at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, it was made available in Europe later in spring.
The design of the Mitsubishi ASX is an interpretation of Mitsubishi's "Concept-cX" from the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, which was received well. 20 cm longer, 6.5 cm higher and 2 cm wider than the concept model, the ASX features a more upright tailgate for packaging. One signature design element is the "Jet Fighter" grille, which pays homage to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.'s F-2 jet fighter. It is now a trademark design for many of Mitsubishi’s on-road vehicles in Europe, such as the Colt, Lancer, Outlander and L200. The design of the ASX can be considered as a "sports hatch" with presence and substance.
